Dak Prescott's negative games are a huge blow to the Cowboys!

Santa Clara, Calif. Even though they were six points behind, the Dallas Cowboys had a chance to win Sunday night with three minutes to go. That appeared unlikely once the fourth quarter started.

Dallas didn’t come any closer after Prescott makes four straight poor throws. In Levi’s Stadium, the Cowboys were defeated 30-24 by the San Francisco 49ers, the fourth consecutive defeat in four years.

That must make the other guys 3-4 without a victory. I assure you no one is disturbed, or discouraged. The frustration accordant is high, still the game lasts for months. We still have much ahead. For this world, I can find the perfect word- Frustrated. Period. I must make plays.”

Prescott claimed he is average for Dallas through the first six games of the season last week. The Cowboys required a good quarterback to beat the 49ers. Prescott then threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to take a wrap up 70 yard drives to leading wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Prescott could not make any more big plays on a third consecutive drive from their own 25yard line.

What was equally apparent was that the four plays were not high-percentage. San Francisco’s 49er standout Fred Warner even had the first pass intercepted almost. On second down Prescott went out of the pocket to find TE Jake Ferguson, he throw the ball out of bound. Prescott had to take a shot down the left sideline to KaVontae Turpin as the clock ran down deep on third down. As with the shot from Hunting, the ball was, for a moment, in Turpin’s hands but he failed to catch the ball. Even with the ball he does not appear as if he would have had both feet in bounds. Prescott wanted Jalen Brooks for a shot at the highlight catch or pass interference on fourth down because pressure came early. That didn’t happen.

He said he has to make throws, pressure or not. I must do it.

Prescott had three straight interceptions for the first time in his career. He has eight this season. He threw nine last season.

He said that he didn’t have to be perfect but that he couldn’t be having turnovers.

On Dallas’ second possession, throwing to a double-covered Turpin seemed like a bad call. Prescott faced single coverage, but his arm was struck while throwing, causing him to underthrow and allow 49ers safety Ji’Ayir Brown to make the play.

That would have changed the story. Unfortunately, I didn’t. Interception occurred when the ball was left within. Great play from the front. Perhaps I could leave, eat, and release the ball before being hit. Often, a sack is better.”

San Francisco started the second half with a 60-yard touchdown.
A turnover three plays later was the last thing Dallas needed. Prescott felt he could pass over 49ers CB Deommodore Lenoir while rolling left. Lenoir made a spectacular leaping grab near the Cowboys’ sideline to catch the pass intended for Lamb.

I should have thrown it away. I wish I had put more heat on it so it would have been CeeDee or out of bounds.”

The 49ers led 20-10 after seven plays with another touchdown.

We put ourselves behind in the turnover battle again, and that’s on me. Not if you want to win games. I must tidy that up.”

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy thought he could take back that interception play call.

“He’s trying to play without leverage. We must discard that ball.”

One positive from the loss was that Prescott and Lamb looked more like themselves over several stretches. Despite some miscommunication in the first six games, the two connected on 13 of 17 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Lamb had his first 100-yard game of the season.

“We’re definitely starting this.”

Prescott lacks a credible running game. His offensive line has hurt him. Ultimately, he must improve. Cowboys’ schedule isn’t getting easier. They should have defensive help in the coming weeks, but if their QB turns the ball over often, it may not matter.

We still control everything. We lost four, but we want to get hot. Just keep building.”
