Ashley Teague lost weight in the spring of 2019, but she wasn’t really concerned about it. Her close friend had died of a heart attack the year before, and her uncle had been killed while performing his duty. She had also gained some weight.

Teague reasoned that perhaps her weight loss was a sign of better physical and emotional health. Never mind that she hadn’t altered her diet or exercise regimen and was working late shifts as a bouncer.

But a year or so later, Indianapolis based freelance photographer Teague, a mother of two, began to worry.

She had lost 25 pounds, experienced significant side pain during a Super Bowl shoot, and everything she ate was immediately digested.
