Batman’s 85th anniversary will fall in 2024. Bob Kane and Bill Finger’s persona has been found in several comics, cartoons, films, and video games in that legendary period. For The Caped Crusader, action figurines have been among the most sought-after types of merchandise though. If you have been a fervent DC fan throughout the past five years, you most certainly own some McFarlane Toys. This year the toy company has exhibited a lot of Batman love; with Batman Day just over the horizon, that is not slowing anytime soon. McFarlane just released their newest collection of Batman comic book figures.
Four fresh Batman figures are needed to occupy our Batcave trophy area. This spans Batman Beyond from Neo-Gothic, Batman from Batman: Noel, Silver Age Batman with Ace the Bat-Hound, Batman (Gold Label) with Bat-Glider from the venerable Elseworlds storyline Kingdom Come. Part of the DC Multiverse series. The latter of which is Amazon exclusive. This army of Batmen adds to McFarlaneâ’s continuous celebration of the Bat-Multiverse.
Along with shows like Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond, they have already highlighted films including Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, and Batman Begins. Although McFarlane has been a leader in quality in the six and seven-inch scale figure industries throughout the years, their recent additions— articulated and fabric capes—have improved them even more. That is all while keeping within their reasonable $20 to $30 range. Most of the figures in this new series have those camera-worthy qualities.
Batman has had among the best careers of any superhero on film beyond the comic page. From filmmaker Matt Reeves, the character—still soaring high off 2022âs The Batman—is The HBO limited series The Penguin this week, which follows the killing of crime boss Carmine Falcone and the flooding of Gotham City a week following The Riddler, sets the inspiration for that crime noir inspired universe continuing. This would bleed into Part II of The Batman, too. Colin Farrell’s Penguin and the Dark Knight played by Robert Pattinson are set to return even though the fans still do not know who would be the main antagonist for the sequel.
The movie will hit theaters on October 2, 2026. Still, that isn’t the only movie focussing on Gotham that comes out. Joker: Folie á Deux, the follow-up to the $1 billion movie starring Joaquin Phoenix, opens on October 5 less than a month later. That movie picks up with this realistic view of the Clown Prince of Crime imprisoned in Arkham where he meets Lady Gaga’s portrayal of Harley Quinn, a harsh worldâ¹. Starting with Creature Commandos and Superman (2025) in The Brave and the Bold, James Gunn will then be introducing his version of Batman in the timeline further down the Bat-Pole. That movie will center on a seasoned criminal fighter teaching his son Damien Wayne to be the next Robin.
Officially starting on Saturday, September 21, Batman Day gets going. This will have well-known Batman adventures making a comeback on film, like Batman Forever and Mask of the Phantasm and Tim Burton’s 1989 picture. Friday, September 20 is pre-order for your new set of McFarlane Toys Batman figures at stores like Entertainment Earth and Amazon before your next Bat-Marathon.
