During an event at its Cupertino, California headquarters, Apple has unveiled the annual updates it has issued for its mobile devices. This includes a new pair of AirPods; four new iPhones 16 complete with Apple Intelligence; an Apple Watch Series 10 featuring an all-new design and larger screen, among others.
Apple has introduced the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus; both, the company says, “are built from the ground up” for Apple Intelligence. This new capacitive button on the side of the iPhone 16 is called the “Camera Control,” according to Apple. Its purpose is to make it simpler to take pictures and films using the device. A touch-sensitive button has been added to the newly dedicated Camera Control button. Simply pressing the Camera Control will allow you to take a picture, and if you want to alter the zoom level, you may do so by sliding your finger along the Camera Control. Besides these, Apple is introducing some more new visual artificial intelligence elements, and those can be accessed pretty fast with the help of the Camera Control.
In addition to that, the action button-which has so far only been on the iPhone 15 Pro-is going to be part of the iPhone 16, instead of the mute switch. While the iPhone 16 sports a display measuring 6.1 inches, the larger Plus sibling ups it to 6.7 inches for its screen. Both have Apple’s A18 chip, which is about thirty percent faster than the current A16 Bionic internals in the newly launched iPhone 15. That particular model has an A16 chip. The new phones also have a bigger battery and a camera four times larger than the iPhone 14 to capture image resolution. Can start at $799. The iPhone 16 starts at $899 and has 128 gigabytes of storage as base capacity. You can order the iPhone 16 starting this Friday.
Apple is going to launch the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max, an upgrade to the Pro iPhone series, as was expected. They would come fitted with more advanced designs compared to the normal iPhone 16 and 16 Plus versions, quality screens, and highly upgraded cameras. The display on the 16 Pro measures 6.3 inches, while the display on the 16 Pro Max measures 6.9 inches. According to Apple, both of these screens have the “thinnest borders on any Apple product,” and the company made the point that they are “the best iPhone displays we’ve had to date.” Besides being “more corrosion resistant than other types of titanium,” a frame made of titanium weighs about half as much as a frame made of stainless steel.
A new triple camera arrangement is included in the iPhone 16 Pro series. This new setting comprises a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 12-megapixel 5x telephoto lens. In addition, these iPhones are the first set of iPhones capable of shooting 4K at up to 120 frames per second.
Both feature the A18 Pro chip, with second-generation 3-nanometer transistors, and a new 16-core neural engine to drive Apple Intelligence. The business claims the new iPhone 16 Pro Max has the “best iPhone battery life ever,” and “the best iPhone battery life ever.” Both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max come with a new Camera Control feature, which is the same touch-sensitive button on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Devices come in four finishes: white, black, natural, and “desert.”
The Series 10 is the thinnest design yet, coming in ten percent thinner than the Series 9. Besides that, it also has the largest display to date, even larger than the Apple Watch Ultra, and it carries up to thirty percent more screen area compared to the Series 9. Messages, mail, or news will also be displayed on an additional line of text that will be displayed. A larger aspect ratio and rounded corners are features that are shared by both the display and the casing. Enhanced visibility is achieved by viewing the Series 10 display at an angle, which results in a brightness increase of up to forty percent.
In addition to those, Apple also introduced the very first glossy aluminum finish ever on an Apple Watch: a jet-black finish polished with silicon nanoparticles to give a surface sheen unique to the Apple Watch. There are more possibilities for finishing, such as rose gold and silver aluminum. To replace the stainless steel finish that was used in earlier generations, a new titanium finish option has been introduced. This finish choice is “carbon-neutral” and weighs up to twenty percent less than the previous versions. Additionally, the watch displays a water resistance of up to fifty meters or more.
Besides, customers can charge their watches to 80% maximum in only thirty minutes, which makes the Series 10 be the Apple Watch that would take the least time in charging so far. Moreover, the Series 10 has an eighteen-hour battery life. An additional feature that Apple has included in the Series 10 is a neural network that reduces the amount of background noise, so making conversations sound more distinct.
New techniques to keep track of workouts are also included in the Apple Watch Series 10 release. As a result of the addition of a Tides App as well as new depth and water temperature sensors, the Apple Watch fitness app makes it possible for rowers, canoeists, and kayakers to keep track of their respective routes and activities.
Apple has unveiled the capability for persons with sleep apnea-a medical condition where people stop breathing while asleep-to receive notifications with the new Apple Watch Series 10. According to Apple, the illness is afflicting over a billion people in the world.
According to the company, eighty percent of those who have sleep apnea do not possess a diagnosis. The Series 10 from Apple employs an accelerometer to monitor breathing disruptions that occur when users are sleeping, and it performs an analysis on this data once every thirty days. Apple has stated that this functionality was developed with the help of a large dataset, and the company anticipates receiving approval from the FDA and other regulatory agencies “very soon for this.”
Apple Watch Series 10 will be available for purchase on September 20. Preorders start on Monday, beginning at $399. It starts at $499 with cellular service.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is here now, in an updated form with a fresh new satin black titanium finish. Other than that, it is largely the same as the Apple Watch. The only differences the Ultra 2 has over include a somewhat faster CPU and a brighter display, with enhanced ultra-wideband technology. The Ultra 2 retains the same design. It boasts an “all-new display design.” For sure, it also claims to have the “most accurate GPS in a sports watch.” Pre-orders start now; it starts at $799, and it goes on sale September 20th.
Other products that Apple will release to the market include AirPods 4. The company described the shape of its “most comfortable AirPods ever” with the use of 3D modeling and laser topography. It has already described the headphones as “best-sounding AirPods ever” and constituting a significant increase in audio quality, driven by the H2 chip in technology. Other features of the buds are the personalization of spatial audio. The case is the smallest case ever made and supports USB-C Charging standard. The AirPods 4 charging case. You can also wirelessly charge the case. Both the regular AirPods 4 and the ones with active noise cancellation are going on sale for $129 and $179, respectively.
In addition to USB-C charging, there are new shades of orange, purple, and starlight. Price remains $549, and orders start Monday. Updated AirPods Max shipments begin on September 20th.
While Apple didn’t announce a new pair of AirPods Pro, the company did promise that it will be bringing updates to its health functionality. As an illustration, hearing protection will be activated automatically across all listening modes and will be accessible to all users. The business has announced a scientifically verified hearing test that can be performed using AirPods Pro and an iPhone in just five minutes. This test is intended for individuals who have not had their hearing examined in the past five years. A clinical-grade hearing aid that is available without a prescription will also be included in the AirPods Pro. Apple has assured users that the AirPods Pro may quickly transform into a tailored hearing aid once they have completed the hearing test.
