Motorola Razr 50 Review: Until now, every foldable phone has been a flagship: after all, the form factor requires compromises in more than one department.
As one of the first companies to produce foldable phones, today Motorola tries to make foldables mainstream, and they do so at significantly lower prices than the ones it had up until now.
It’s interesting in that other companies see this range as the optimal one to upsell into, and there are significant increases in average selling price as a result.
But can the idea of a mid-range foldable work? I took the Motorola Razr 50 for a drive and discovered four reasons why it just might.

1. A practical design: The Motorola Razr 50 has a practical design because of its size, which fits comfortably in your hands despite its huge 6.9-inch screen, and its flip form factor, which allows for many use cases.
The Spritz Orange color I received for evaluation was amazing, to put it kindly. Also, I don’t believe any other manufacturer has included a case in the box that fits as good as the phone itself.
The phone also includes a fingerprint reader in the power button for unlocking, which may appear dated but works well in a variety of circumstances.
2. Real-life scenarios: fold-out design made some use cases easier than its predecessors- largely thanks to how Motorola implemented the 3.6-inch external display.
For example, having been in the United States for the iPhone launch, I can easily record movies by folding the phone half into my hand and having the external screen at the side of me using the main camera.
All I had to do was tap the external screen to start the recording. There is also a handy cam mode, which allows you to hold the phone semi-folded like a video camera and use the portion near your thumb to start recording or zoom with a swipe motion while viewing the video preview on the part facing you.
3. Full External Display The 3.6-inch external display is almost fully functional, and you can run all your apps on the whole screen. You can set which apps would want to show on this screen when your phone is folded in settings.
Furthermore, Motorola has created games just for this screen. I enjoyed the simple Marble Mayhem game, which reminded me of my childhood. You may pinch in on this screen to see all of your tabs, from weather to calendar, and then tap the one you want to go to.

Simple but practical. It’s wonderful that Motorola hasn’t included any gimmicks here. Even when the phone is folded, you may tap the screen to take a short selfie.
4. Pretty powerful: The Motorola Razr 50 is driven by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor, which can handle whatever you throw at it. I didn’t notice any slowness, even when the phone had to change form factor from full screen to partially or fully folded.
The phone does not heat up while you play games or record long 4K films. Overall, Motorola’s Razr 50 offers a battery life of more than a day.
The one thing I did notice is that with the cover, this feels like a hefty phone, despite being only slightly heavier than standard smartphones. While I would not recommend using a foldable without a cover, bear this in mind.
Despite Motorola’s many distinctive changes to the phone, the Razr 50 lacks a foldable user interface. It simply adapts the smartphone UI — in this example, more in line with pure Android — to a folding screen or a smaller external screen.
I would say yes if you have been wanting to buy foldable but haven’t been able to afford it. This phone makes sense if you prefer a small device, take a lot of videos of yourself and others, and enjoy experimenting with technology. If you check the boxes above, this phone is worth considering for the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale price of Rs 49,990.
conclusion
Finally, the Motorola Razr 50 comes out as a wise investment, especially with the current promotional offer. Its mix of cutting-edge features, stylish design, and dependable performance, all at a low price, makes it an appealing option for those looking for a new smartphone. Don’t pass on this opportunity to get a premium device at an unbelievable price.
