Fritz and Wolfe have been honest about the ups and downs of their friendship. The two previously took part in the 2010-launched American Pickers reality series on The History Channel. The popular programme followed Wolfe and Fritz as they travelled the country and “create a career by restoring abandoned treasures to their former splendour, transforming one person’s garbage into another’s treasure,” according to History.com.

In July of last year, Fritz told The Sun that he had left the show and had lost touch with Wolfe. A spokeswoman for The History Channel then verified Fritz’s departure to PEOPLE.

I haven’t spoken to Mike in two years,” Fritz said to the media. “He was aware of the pain in my back, but he didn’t check in with me by phone. The situation is as it is.”

Wolfe expressed his grief at losing his former co-host in a statement provided to PEOPLE.

“I have known Frank for as long as I can remember, and he has been like a brother to me,” he claimed. “The path Frank, Dani (Danielle), and I took in 2009 had its ups and downs, blessings and challenges, but it was also the most profitable. Like you all, I will miss Frank and I hope that as he goes on his adventure, he experiences only the greatest and wonderful things.”
