LeBron James gave his best for the Los Angeles Lakers in their game against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. The NBA’s all-time top scorer nearly had a triple-double, finishing with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists in 35 minutes of play.
It was far from enough, however, as a shorthanded Mavs team that lacked both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in this game went on to win 118-97 at home against a poor Lakers team.
After the game, James dropped his honest assessment of LA’s embarrassing loss. For starters, the 40-year-old credited the Mavs for their tactics.
“They had a great game plan,” he stated. “. They put us in a lot of pick-and-rolls. They spread us out.”
The Lakers had a “horrible finish” to the half, and LeBron claimed that it all came down to the end of the second quarter.

It’s just another game for his squad, according to the four-time NBA champion.
“Just another night for us not very good offensively,” James stated. “We didn’t shoot the ball well, missed a lot of shots at the rim and they countered that.”
Following Sunday’s crushing defeat at the hands of the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles have now suffered back-to-back losses. “It sucks, obviously, especially how well we’ve been playing,” LeBron added.
The Lakers’ season record now stands at 20-16 after Tuesday’s defeat. They and the Los Angeles Clippers are tied for sixth place in the Western Conference.

LeBron James’ stern message to the NFL
After the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors, LeBron James was already speaking out about the NFL’s attempts to make Christmas games an even more significant occasion.’
Two major NFL games were aired on Netflix: the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Houston Texans, and the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers.
James was interviewed by ESPN’s Lisa Salters after the Lakers defeated the Warriors 115-113, sending a Christmas message to the NFL. “I love the NFL. I love the NFL. But Christmas is our day,” said James. The NBA held five big games on Wednesday, featuring well-known players and up-and-comers.
James and the Lakers won the game, as he led the charge with 31 points, four rebounds, 10 assists, two steals, and a block, while Stephen Curry finished with 38 points and six assists.
Recently, the NFL started a tradition in 2020 to play at least one Christmas game, even if the holiday falls on a day not typically scheduled for games, despite never intentionally setting a Christmas game outside their regular schedule.
The two games this year by the NFL, Ravens at Texans and Chiefs at Steelers, ended in blowouts without much social media attention.

The NBA organized an exciting Christmas match between two of its most recognizable players, showcasing the league’s marketable names and providing thrilling viewing for fans.
“The Lakers proved to what I keep saying: the Lakers stink, plain and simple,” Barkley said. “The Lakers aren’t a fantastic squad. They have no athletic aptitude.
Kenny Smith highlighted the Lakers’ suffering by pointing out that the Mavs were on a five-game losing streak going into this match. Addition: “Dallas has lost 10 games in a row with Doncic and Irving out.”
Following Sunday’s 119-115 loss to the Houston Rockets, the Lakers have now dropped back-to-back games and will need to immediately gather themselves. On Thursday, they will play their first game back at home against the Charlotte Hornets.
