About his playing time approaching the 2024 NFL season, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has given a strong message to quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid.
This year Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and Travis Kelce are on a mission to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to an NFL three-peat never seen before. And the tight end makes it abundantly evident he wants to play as much as possible.
Just around the horizon, the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, Kelce addressed the media on Tuesday. The Chiefs star informed everyone he expects to get all the snaps he can when asked about the likelihood of his age causing less work.
NFL News: Regarding his role, Chiefs’ Travis Kelce tells Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes something really obvious.
“I most likely wouldn’t listen to them if they did,” Kelce remarked via ESPN’s Adam Teicher. Although the three-time Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs is turning thirty-five in October, this does not justify him receiving decreased playing time.
“You get more comfy with your body,” Kelce said. “You pick knowledge from prior blunders as well as stuff like this. You keep improving and growing more conscious of where your body is at.
Travis Kelce already looked upset with Andy Reid about being replaced
Kelce offered plenty of material back in February to discuss a contentious issue in Super Bowl LVIII. Kelce screamed at Reid as he tried to stay on the field after being taken out of a play against the San Francisco 49ers.
Later on, the tight end and the coach downplayed the event, which kept news headlines even following the Chiefs’ Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas victory. Now, Kelce, Reid, and Mahomes want to surpass all teams in NFL history by chasing a third consecutive ring, a goal no team has been able to accomplish thus far.

“I’m delighted.” I get to play fresh-slate, another year of football. Get to sort of prove to Chiefs Kingdom that we’re one of the top dogs and we can play at a high level,” Kelce said.

Kelce, who is in his 12th season in the NFL, still enjoys being part of a team that allows him and Mahomes the chance to contend. The tight end is equally driven as in every other year, even if he is not getting any younger.
“I just love coming in here [and] I just love football and how it takes me away from life,” Kelce stated. “It makes me truly glad about something. Coming into the building, working on my craft, learning a new game plan and honing it for those around me appeals to me. [It] provides me with direction to sort of live my life and go about my daily business; it excites me much doing this.

“I truly appreciate getting out every single day, even if it’s just a practice to really focus on my craft; I am forever lucky to be able to play as many games as I have already done in this league. I’m ready to rock Week 1 and thank you; I know not everyone has that same job fortune.
After welcoming the Baltimore Ravens to Arrowhead on Thursday, the Chiefs—who have won the past two Super Bowls—will start the NFL season. For the core created by Kelce, Mahomes, and Reid, the start of yet another fascinating year. Will they once more travel all the way to the promised land?
