The Toronto Raptors have increased their guard depth.
“He is a fascinating player. With reference to Barton’s three postseason campaigns with Denver, Raptors head coach Nick Nurse stated, “He’s played a lot in the NBA on a club that won a lot. “He can play the screen and roll, create offence, and shoot three-pointers.
In 40 games with Washington this season, the six-foot-five, 180-pound Barton averaged 7.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 19.6 minutes. On February 21, the Wizards released Barton.
After averaging 14.7 points per game in 71 starts with the Nuggets in 2021–2022, he was traded to Washington in the offseason.
In 663 games, Barton has a 663 game average of 11.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 25.5 minutes. His lifetime three-point percentage is 35.5%, and this season he has a three-point percentage of 38%.

“When Toronto played home to the Chicago Bulls, Nurse remarked, “We’ll have to see how we can work him in and where he goes. “We’ll see if he can fill in for us when we need some backcourt support off the bench, in my opinion.
In 42 games this season, Hernangomez, who agreed to a one-year, US$2.2 million contract with the Raptors this summer, averaged 2.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 14.6 minutes.
He has averaged 5.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 15.5 minutes in 339 games during his seven-year career.
Hernangomez, according to Nurse, had “some decent moments” with the Raptors, but his release was required due to budgetary constraints.
“In terms of the commercial side of things, it always comes back to contractual circumstances, said Nurse. “There were some other men who simply had different contract arrangements. Hence, this was the decision we ultimately made.
