Taylor Swift dedicated an acoustic song to Stevie Nicks in Dublin: ‘She is my hero.’

You resemble Stevie Nicks, according to the legend in the Eras Tour VIP tent.

Sunday night, on the last night in Dublin, Ireland, the Fleetwood Mac singer-songwriter witnessed the more than three-hour performance.

Swift honored her during the surprise acoustic set by belting out “Clara Bow” from “The Tortured Poets Department.” The rock legend is mentioned in the second verse of the sixteenth song, “You look like Stevie Nicks / In ’75, the hair and lips / Crowd goes wild at her fingertips / Half moonshine, a full eclipse.”

Taylor Swift wrapped up her third and final Eras Tour date in Dublin, Ireland, at Aviva Stadium on Sunday, and she debuted The Tortured Poet’s Department’s closing track “Clara Bow” live along with giving it a special dedication to an icon who was also in attendance

“This one is a pretty easy one because I’ve never played this one live before,” Swift said in her sunset orange dress. “The reason I want to play this tonight is because a friend of mine is here who is watching the show and who has really been one of the reasons why I or any female artist gets to do what we get to do. She’s paved the way for us. And she’s mentored so many artists that you don’t even know she’s doing it.”

Swift added how Nicks has mentored her and so many female artists. “Just to be a guiding hand, I can’t tell you how rare that is,” Swift said. “She’s a hero of mine and also someone that I can tell her any secret and she would never tell anybody. She’s really helped me through so much over the years.”

Swift belted out “Lucky One” from “Red (Taylor’s Version)” before picking up the piano and playing “You’re on Your Own Kid” from “Midnights.”

over ten years of friendship
Nicks and Taylor Swift have been friends for approximately fifteen years. At the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2010, a blonde with curly hair and a guitar performed a three-song mashup with Nicks. Nicks was quoted in an article in December following Swift’s announcement as the 2023 Time Person of the Year: “I don’t give Taylor advice about being famous.” She is not in need of it.

Taylor Swift continues to break records and make music history. The pop juggernaut won album of the year for “Midnights” at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Feb. 4, 2024, becoming the first artist to take home that award four times.

This came after a massive 2023 for the “Anti-Hero” singer, who kicked off her popular stadium tour and was named Time magazine’s person of the year.

In April, Nicks wrote the introductory poem on “Tortured Poets” album booklet that reads in part: “He was in love with her / Or at least she thought so. She was broken hearted / ~ Maybe he was, too ~” She’s also the main character of verse two in “Clara Bow,” when the Eras Tour star sings.

Also in the VIP tent was actress Julia Roberts and Bridgerton actress Florence Hunt. When Swift performed “August,” her boyfriend Travis Kelce walked into the Aviva Stadium with his best friend Ross Travis.

The massive Eras Tour has 43 shows remaining. Beginning on July 4, Swift will travel to Amsterdam, Netherlands for a three-night stay.

Her three-night run in Dublin included surprise live debuts of the songs “The Albatross” from The Tortured Poet’s D

Swift’s next set of Eras Tour dates find her in Amsterdam, where she will perform at Johan Cruijff Arena from July 4 through the 6. The European and U.K. leg of Swift’s tour runs through August before the tour heads to Canada for a string of dates that concludes on Dec. 8 at BC Place in Vancouver.
