Tiger Woods’ participation in PGA Tour discussions on LIV Golf is praised by Rory McIlroy.

Even though Woods didn’t make the cut for this week’s second FedEx Cup playoff event, he still made the trip to Wilmington, Delaware, for the PGA Tour senior players meeting held before the BMW Championship.

The four-time champion McIlroy described it as “touching”. “I believe it demonstrates how he feels about the tour. It demonstrates, in my opinion, how deeply he cares about the players who will make up the following generation.

After being sidelined for 17 months due to a car accident in February 2021 in which he suffered severe leg injuries, Woods made his comeback at the Masters in April.

Woods’ career was winding down, and McIlroy acknowledged that the PGA Tour was “moving into a different era,” but he insisted that the legendary American was still one of the game’s most important figures.
