Becky Hammon is named WNBA Coach of the Year in her first season with the Aces. 

In her first season leading the Las Vegas Aces, Becky Hammon received the WNBA Coach of the Year Award. 

She is the first former player to do so in her first season with a team and the third former player overall to win the award. 

In 2021, Hammond guided the Aces to a 26-10 record that set a franchise record and was tied for the best in the WNBA with the Chicago Sky. 

The team led the league and the Aces in scoring with 90.4 points per game. 

The 722 winning percentage is also the second-best ever for a head coach in their first season. 

The Aces defeated the Sky to win the Commissioner's Cup in 2022.

The winner, Hammon, received 27 votes. Tanish Wright of the Atlanta Dream received 18 votes, while James Wade
