Browns trade Baker Mayfield to Panthers for conditional pick

In exchange for Baker Mayfield, the Carolina Panthers are adding another quarterback to their depth chart.

According to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jonathan Jones, the fifth-round pick could become a fourth-rounder.

NFL Network reports the Panthers and Browns will likewise part the cash Mayfield is owed in 2022.  

In the last year of his tenderfoot agreement, Mayfield was expected to receive $18.85 million in cash.

The Browns will pay Mayfield $10.5 million out of 2022 while the Panthers will pay about $5 million. 

Mayfield likewise supposedly consented to take about a $3.5 million compensation cut.

The previous No. 1 generally pick has been looking for a difference in view since the Browns won the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes. 

Just weeks before the start of instruction, the Panthers swung an agreement for Mayfield.
