Elon Musk's son seeks a name change in order to break ties with his father
Elon Musk's transgender child has requested to have her name changed in accordance to her new gender identity.
She stated that she no longer wants to be related to her biological father and "I no longer live or want to be related to him in any way, shape, or form."
In April, the petition was filed at Santa Monica's Los Angeles County Superior Court for a name change as well as a new birth record that reflects her gender identity.
According to PlainSite.org, the former Xavier Alexander Musk has requested that the court change her gender recognition to male to female.
In the online document, her new name was removed. Her mother is Justine Wilson. She divorced Musk in 2008.
The rift between Musk's daughter, Musk (TSLA.O) and her father SpaceX chief, who are attempting to buy social media platform Twitter for $44 billion,
was not explained further.
Reuters email requests for comment on Monday were not immediately answered by either Musk's lawyer or the Tesla media office.
Musk expressed his support for Republican Party in May, just a month after the gender change and name document were filed.
His elected representatives supported a series of bills that would restrict transgender rights across the country.
Musk commented on the topic of transgender people choosing their preferred Pronouns. Musk tweeted in 2020:
"I absolutely support transgender people, but all these prosnouns are an aesthetic nightmare."
