Evaluation of the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin 8RE

The GS65 is essentially a complete redesign of the  GS63VR portable gaming device that debuted in 2016. 

However, turning on the GS65 reveals an instant change: the  screen.  

It's a 15.6-inch panel, but MSI opted for a near-zero bezel design on the top and sides.  

That's about an inch less than the width of the GS63, making it about the same size as the Dell XPS 15. However, the  

GS65 is slightly deeper,  at just under 9.75 inches. 

The reason for the taller structure is the hinged design. 

which now allows the panel to fold  180 degrees. In terms of ports, the  

It has three USB 3.1 5 Gbps Type-A, full-size HDMI 2.0, a miniDisplayPort and Thunderbolt 3. 

The audio subsystem, loud and subtle enough. 

We're well aware that MSI hasn't sacrificed much space for a large subwoofer or any significant subwoofer room. 

It's fair, but it won't impress anyone.
