It has the higher end model of the Macbook family, which is primarily aimed at consumers.

The first generation Macbook Pro used the Power Book G4 design, but was later replaced with Power PC Chips with Intel Core processors, and the MagSafe Power connector was introduced. 

The Second Generation model was introduced in October 2008, with 13- and 15-inch variants. 

In 2012, the 15-inch MacBook Pro was released in June, followed by a 13-inch model in October. 

The fourth-generation MacBook Pro, which was released in October 2016, used USB-C for all data ports and power, as well as a shallower "butterfly"-mechanism keyboard.

The fifth-generation MacBook Pro will be available in 14- and 16-inch sizes in October 2021.

Split View is your friend if you want to work with two apps side by side on a Mac computer. You could, of course, manually resize the two apps.
