Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki issued a further threat regarding currency sellers on Monday.

Stating that Japan is prepared to engage in "decisive" action in the foreign exchange marketplace.

 If abnormal yen swings continue.

In reference to better - than - expected declines in the yen.

Suzuki said at a press conference held following a parliamentary

session that "it's vital for currency to fluctuate steadily.

As sudden and one-sided changes are unpleasant."

Some other day, we stepped in now and promised to act forcefully if necessary He said.

He continued "There's no denying that this has prevented opportunistic actions".
