The Heights will soon have access to a Montrose innovative ice cream hotspot. This Friday, July 14, the second site of Milk + Sugar Creamery will open.
The new Milk + Sugar gives the four-year-old ice cream store a new outlet for its trademark ice cream flavors that come with chunky mix-ins like brownies, cookies, or swirls.
It is situated close to Chi'Lantro BBQ in the Heights Forum development at 1324 N. Shepherd Dr.
Popular choices include the City That Never Sleeps (coffee and pretzel ice cream with chocolate flakes) and the Sundae Funday (sweet cream ice cream with brownie bits and fudge ripple).
Owner Chou Wong tells CultureMap that "we create flavors that you can't find in the grocery store aisle."
"We make a complete dessert in a scoop. We enjoy developing flavors that you wouldn't expect to find in an ice cream scoop. We have made 'Life is too short for plain vanilla' our mantra.
25% of Milk + Sugar's offerings are seasonal specialties in addition to the main menu.
The store's Red, White + Blue July special features velvet tres leches in a red color, sweet cream in a white color, and berry purée in a blue color.
