A new documentary on former Knick Jeremy Lin and Kobe Bryant centres on their matchup.
The quick ascension of Jeremy Lin has been well-documented.
With the wave of anti-Asian violence in recent years, a new HBO documentary about the former Knicks guard aims to understand "Linsanitydeeper "'s value via the lens of time and bigotry.
Without mentioning basketball, the director of the movie, Frank Chi, said that "38 at the Garden" can be divided into three parts:
"Part 1 is about stereotypes, Part 2 is about what occurs when person cracks those stereotypes, and Part 3 is about today
when those stereotypes have been weaponized and turned into anti-Asian violence."
The film, which was called after the digit of points Lin cut in a bright trade version against the late Kobe Bryant and the Lakers at MSG on February 10, 2012, was fired as a trailer on Tuesday by HBO.
The movie follows Lin's incredible trip from undrafted free agent out of Harvard to Knicks bench player and NBA star.
