The Philadelphia Union announced plans for a massive new $55 million waterfront complex on Tuesday.

The WSFS Bank Sportsplex, a "365-day-a-year" 170,000 sq ft sports center on the Chester waterfront 

will house the organization's academies next to Subaru Park, the team's home stadium.

The sports complex will have a 125x75-yard indoor turf field, two indoor courts that can  

accommodate eight cross-width courts, A 20,000-square-foot indoor performance center with a weight 

gym and sprint track, locker rooms, and an eatery for athletes and visitors.

The project, according to the development team, is anticipated to increase tourism to Chester's waterfront
