Stanford University was served a court order by Elon Musk, a well-known dropout.

 over his decision to reject a $44 billion takeover offer.

A Delaware subpoena issued Wednesday seeks all documents related to "discussions, conferences, discussions

between Twitter and Stanford as well as anyone associated with the university regarding the proposed deal. 

In 1995, when he was 24 years old, Musk enrolled in Stanford's doctoral programme in physics but left after just two days.  

The founder of Tesla Inc. tweeted earlier in the month about a letter he received from a Stanford professor  

informing him of the ground-breaking research he was missing out on.
