Tesla confidant fired over 'suspicious' glass order: report
Elon Musk confidant and longtime Tesla executive has reportedly been fired amid an investigation into his "suspicious" order of hard-to-find glass.
Tesla has launched an internal investigation into Omead Afshar, who runs Tesla's Texas factory
After the company's finance and audit teams learned he had placed an order for a "special type of glass,"
Afshar allegedly told the workers that the glass order was for a "secret project".
Investigators are trying to determine whether the order, which was made using company resources, was for Tesla or for Musk's personal use.
The glass is said to be difficult to source at the moment due to global supply chain issues.
Several Tesla employees have been fired in connection with the internal investigation, Bloomberg reported.
Afshar is also expected to be pushed out - possibly after a leave and agreement on the details of his departure.
