Tesla in Tunnels, Elon Musk's project in Las Vegas, continues. Here's the first station, which is being built

Thursday, Elon Musk's Boring Company unveiled the first passenger station in the "Vegas Loop" network of tunnels.

There will be 55 stops along 29 miles of tunnels, starting beneath Resorts World Las Vegas.

In early 2021, the Boring Company opened an 0.8-mile tunnel beneath the Las Vegas Convention Center as a small version of this "Teslas in Tunnels" system.

A massive citywide expansion was approved last year by Clark County officials after Musk's startup proposed it.

Even though Musk had previously complained about using sleds to carry cars through the tunnels, the system relies on human-controlled Model X and Y vehicles.

With the Vegas Loop, Teslas will be able to hitch rides to and from Las Vegas' hotels and casinos,

Las Vegas Convention Center, the new football stadium, and McCarran International Airport are all located in the city.
