The best thing about the new Apple Watch is the excellent stretchy band

A knitted solo loop is expensive but worth it

My problem with the Apple Watch, and with all watches in general, is the band

Like most people, I spend most of my time sitting at a desk typing on a computer, and I could never get used to having my watch strap, or small metal clasp, on my desk. In the palm of my laptop

It's rough, it's loud, and it's uncomfortable

Inevitably, I got into the habit of wearing the watch, only taking it off to work, and eventually never wearing it again.

But I bought a watch series 8 this weekend with the streaky braided solo loop and that changed for the wearer of this watch.

The braided isolated loop (I call it BSL, "Hang on bros, let me throw on the BSL before we hit those gnarly swells") came with the Watch Series 6 in 2020,

but I haven't had an Apple Watch for a few years, so it's new to me.
