Comcast representative Joel Shadle confirmed to The Verge that while speeds will increase, the 1.2TB monthly data cap that is currently applicable to these plans will remain the same. Because of this, even if your speeds will be quicker, you’ll still need to monitor your data usage if you routinely download large files or stream a lot of information. Shadle affirmed that the increased speed enhancements only apply to download rates; upload rates remain unchanged.

The latest improvements come from Comcast, which occasionally increases speeds for all plans. Additionally, they might assist Comcast in gaining more clients in light of the fact that the company’s most recent financial report indicated that broadband subscriber growth remained basically static. On October 27, Comcast will release its third-quarter financial results.Comcast is also making investments in faster multi-gig internet; by the end of the year, it hopes to provide 2Gbps connections in 34 US cities and towns.
