Despite the game’s servers being offline, one player still playing Concord on PC. Concord attracted criticism for bad design and lack of creativity even though it sought to be the next StarCraft. Though opinions are divided, PlayStation claims it is looking at possibilities for Concord’s future. One individual is still playing Concord on PC via Steam, despite the contentious first-person hero shooter closing its servers on September 6. Concord was a first-party PlayStation game, although it only survived two weeks before being closed and had mixed opinions from reviewers.
Designed by Firewalk Studios, a new PlayStation studio, the now-delisted shooter sought to be the next StarCraft but Concord’s badly timed release was only one of several factors contributing to the two-week lifespan of the divisive new game being canceled.
Apart from some fierce competition, Concord was attacked by artists for its “ugly” character design and lack of originality in a genre already crowded.
Although Concord’s debut might not have gone as planned, the hero shooter can nonetheless provide Destiny with a meager bit of inspiration.

SteamDB claims that there seems to be one person playing the game even though Concord is formally defunct. Although the shooter only peaked at 697 concurrent players at launch, the website—an unofficial database for all things Steam—states that one user still has the game launched. This one gamer most likely just has the game launched and isn’t really playing anything as the game’s servers aren’t operating now. Still, a mystery is why the user would decide to have a perpetually running inoperative game.
Die-Hard Concord Fan Remains Online
Although critics have given Concord conflicting opinions, the shooter nonetheless kept a good review badge on Steam. Sadly, the low player count caused PlayStation to delist the game and reimburse every player just two weeks following Concord’s release. For those who were really enjoying their time with the title, however, it’s not entirely negative news since PlayStation indicated it will “explore options” for Concord’s future. Though the studio seems to be returning to the drawing board before deciding Concord’s future, there is no indication that it will ever make a comeback.
Since servers are formally offline, this one person who stays online most likely is just complaining about the game’s unexpected cancellation. One lone The Day Before player stayed online following the January 2024 shutdown, hence this is not the first time one sole player has stayed online in a delisted game. Developer Fantastic announced The Day Before’s demise four days ago, however, the game stayed running for about six weeks overall.
Although gamers have sometimes called The Day Before a “scam,” Concord is nothing of the kind. Firewalk claims that after over eight years of development, the shooter was criticized by many for not being unique from seasoned hero games like Apex Legends and Overwatch. Although the genre may be very crowded, Valve’s upcoming hero shooter Deadlock shows there is still a possibility of success since it manages to keep over 100,000 active gamers, even though the game is yet to be formally published.
