Mind-blowing Avatar 5 theory reveals the massive Na’vi twist hidden in the title

The fourth sequel in the movie series could finish James Cameron’s epic sci-fi adventure with a great storyline development hinted at by Avatar 5 arriving in 2031. The three Avatar successors’ recurrent cast members expose an unexpected degree of where the narrative is headed and who will survive the approaching conflicts. Still, the scant story elements for each forthcoming Avatar film still allow something for the imagination. Though the ending of Avatar: The Way of Water provides the successors with many options, some events have to happen before the epic ends.

Every sequel to 2009’s Avatar has an interesting subtitle suggesting the nature of the narrative. They must obviously deal with the events of the past films, but the major goal of the sequels is to further the more general storyline. While filmmaker James Cameron has said he intends for a sixth and seventh Avatar film, neither has yet been approved. For this reason, Avatar 5 is probably the major competitor as the movie to wrap it all up. Though specifics regarding the plot of the fifth film are few, its title might have the most hint of all.

Avatar: The Na’vi Originate On Earth Suggests The Setting For Eywa

The Na’vi are treated virtually like a deity, Eywa is a mystery being. She seems to be part of Pandora itself and non-corporeal. Avatar: The Quest for Ewya, the fifth film, has been confirmed to be set – at least partially – on Earth.

Though it is an interesting idea, the Na’vi traveling to the human homeworld begs the issue of why the Pandoran people are traveling to Earth in an implicit search for the Na’vi deity. The best explanation is that Eywa also connects strongly with Pandora as well as Earth.

Should Eywa be generated artificially on Earth, it is not unreasonable to believe that humans also bear responsibility for the genesis of the Na’vi people.

Should Eywa have been created artificially on Earth, it is not unreasonable to believe that humans also have responsibility for the genesis of the Na’vi people. If true, putting a being like Eywa on Pandora might have been an attempt to also calm the Na’vi, therefore facilitating their easy control. The Na’vi are not so readily conquered with Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully leading the fight against his former people, hence Eywa could be judged a waste of money. Humanity may thus deactivate her, causing the Na’vi to follow their deity’s path back to Earth.

People in Avatar Have Already Showed They Could Create Na’vi Bodies

In the universe of Avatar, by the mid-22nd century, humanity is rather sophisticated. Though possibly the most pertinent discovery to this creation theory is that humans can produce Na’vi race members from scratch, interstellar travel is no more a concept from science fiction. Indeed, the ones created are Na’vi/human hybrids, sometimes referred to as Avatars or Recombinants, but they provide a substantial likelihood that Earthly people may produce 100% real Na’vi race members free from the requirement for human DNA.
Though every lab-grown Na’vi that has thus far shown has basically been an empty vessel without a consciousness of its own, there is still the possibility of a Na’vi being developed at an earlier stage and being allowed to grow organically. Although neither of the first two Avatar films depicts this, given humanity’s known technological capacity in the franchise’s universe, this is most definitely considerably more than could be expected.

The Issues Regarding Na’vi Theory Originating from Earth

This hypothesis is not without problems. One of the main problems is that, although the Na’vi would naturally be blissfully ignorant of their Earthly origin, it would undoubtedly be a constant topic of debate among the human characters. Sadly, nobody has ever brought it up or discussed it on film. This somewhat lessens the likelihood but does not absolutely refute the notion. Furthermore, should the Na’vi have started life on Earth, the humans would probably be significantly more conscious of their shortcomings and ready for their battles with them.

Like many sci-fi movies, Avatar is set in the middle of the 22nd century and generally follows the actual technological evolution of mankind.

This theory can readily break apart for maybe a lot more obvious reasons, and it relates to the setting of the franchise. Like many sci-fi films, Avatar is set in the middle of the 22nd century and generally follows the actual technological advancement of mankind. Sadly, the Pandoran culture is far, far older than could have been derived from Earth. Basically, the Na’vi were most likely already on their moon for millennia long before humans arrived at the stars or acquired the capacity to make the blue aliens or Eywa.

Avatar would benefit much from the Na’vi & Eywa Being Created by Humanity twist.

If done properly, the revelation would be a great surprise for the Avatar series even if there would be some narrative backflips needed for it to make logic. If it is to work, though, it will have to make certain compromises. For example, it’s conceivable that life on Earth was itself produced by an outside source and that same source might have also produced another branch of mankind on another planet completely. Depending on how far in the past this other human civilization started, they might have been the ones bringing life to Pandora before they vanished.

Alternatively, maybe the Na’vi were produced via some invisible cosmic event, much as humans were.

If so, the death of Eywa on Pandora could lead Na’vi to fly to Earth in Avatar 5 in search of another version of their spiritual entity to assist control the biological operations of their moon. Although its status as a space opera means everything is possible, one may argue that this is somewhat too high-concept for a franchise like Avatar.
Though the story is undoubtedly headed toward a triumph for either mankind or the Na’vi, without a flourish like the revelation of the Na’vi’s origin, the ending would be somewhat disappointing and predictable. That said, Cameron’s stories for the Avatar films have been pretty simple thus far, with an eye toward transforming the franchise into a visual wonder rather than following a convoluted narrative. Avatar 5 might thus not feature any significant twist at all.
