Even in a 28-point shellacking of the Minnesota Vikings, perhaps a second quarter touchdown might not have made much of a difference but once again, sunlight was an issue in a Dallas Cowboys home game at AT&T Stadium. Leading 7-3 and with second and goal at the Philadelphia Eagles’ 3, Cooper Rush had an open CeeDee Lamb for a go-ahead touchdown. One problem: Lamb could not see the path through this since the sun was in his eyes.
The Cowboys had to be content with a field goal and did not even manage a point in the final stanza, going down 34-6 to the Eagles. About five minutes and twenty seconds into the interview period, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones himself introduced the subject of the sun.
“Well, we do know where the damn sun is going to be at our own stadium,” Jones said. Further questions were posed as he strode down the hall towards the elevators. Why not put up curtains? Oh, boohoo, let’s just go and demolish the bloody stadium and erect a new one, shall we? You kidding me?” Jones said.
The stadium has only been in use for fifteen years; a $1.2 billion arena does not have to be demolished to be updated; however, the Cowboys have employed curtains for concerts, basketball games and more at AT&T Stadium. ‘Everybody got the same thing’ said Jones of the dialogue.
It’s the same issues with every team that comes into this building, you know. They believe they know where the sun is going to be. What they get is the same thing with every team.” To reiterate, the Cowboys don’t even practice in AT&T Stadium. And the sun is an issue only in later afternoon kickoffs during the fall.

Thus should the football team’s head coach, Mike McCarthy, stage the plays distinctively with regard to the place where the sun ought to be? “I’m not saying. I’m saying the world tells where the sun is,” Jones said. We find out that is almost a year in advance. Thus, someone asked me about the sun and what about the sun? Where’s the moon?”
I couldn’t discern at first whether Rush was targeting tight end Jake Ferguson, who got his hands out of the pass reception range or Lamb. “I was throwing to CeeDee,” Rush said. This man is open there, receiving the ball while coming across the middle. I didn’t see. I threw and got hit. I didn’t see what happened. I heard it was the sun. I don’t know.” Television replays were unfortunate to capture Lamb pointing at his eyes, as though he had lost the ball in the sun.
Would Lamb be in want of curtains?
“Yes,” he stated. “1,000 percentage.”
Will he bring it up to Jones?
“I imply y’all are doing my job right now,” Lamb said.

It may not matter on the grounds that Jones has been dug in on the matter for the reason that stadium opened in 2009.
“We’re best,” Jones stated. “But anyone performs inside the sun out here.”
